Transporting Refinery Equipment from Thessaloniki to Helleniq Energy in Eleusis

Cosmatos Group was entrusted with a critical logistics operation by EKME SA, a leading company in the construction of Oil & Gas facilities. Our mission: to handle the port operations and sea transport of vital refinery equipment from Thessaloniki Port to the Helleniq Energy pier in Eleusis, Greece.

This complex project required meticulous planning and execution. Our responsibilities included:

  • Entry formalities for the cargo’s arrival in the port’s free zone
  • Port handling to ensure seamless movement within the terminal
  • Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) and Lo-Lo (Lift-on/Lift-off) operations, utilizing the vessel’s ramp and a mobile crane with specialized lifting equipment
  • Cargo securing on board to guarantee safe transit
  • Chartering a Greek-flagged ferry for the voyage from Thessaloniki to a dedicated berth at Helleniq Energy’s Eleusis site

The shipment comprised two oversized units:

  1. Flexicoker Heater New Top Head
    Dimensions: 9.90 x 9.90 x 5.49 meters
